其實是否HSDPA，對於「用手機上網」不是很大分別，因為手機屏幕細小，就算串流影片也不用特大bandwidth，反而是手機本身的processing power和3G網絡本身的latency問題才是樽頸所在。

（但HSDPA用於電腦上網，傳送速度則和一般3G會有明顯分別。）

新聞稿中所謂HSPA，應指HSDPA（不可能是HSUPA）吧。

香港手機上網的問題，始終在於一個「錢」字，若非語音通話掀起劈價戰，數據傳輸費應該不用一直高企。SV這趟$78無限任上3G，的確功德無量。

但看其周邊服務，例如手機播Podcast，老實說，SV何時接觸過本地的Podcast社群？難道叫人只聽老外節目和香港電台？而那個RSS Feed reader的服務，我看不出有甚麼出奇之處。其他服務（如手機看YouTube、Orb等）更加是一直都已存在。

雖然是踏出了重要一步，但我非常同意 – 革命尚未成功。

Just read the forum of 空姐 passage. … so would like to add that I just tried to contribute some thoughts and ideas in a healthy way, sort of an exchange of ideas and make process… didn’t mean to be negative and will never do so. I am not in HK, if you find out the bandwidth matters on Smartone, and the like.. I would be very interested to know. BTW, 3 in overseas has been quite valueable to me. I have used three different mobile companies so far. I only need to pay about $200 HK dollar equivalent for a month usage in Hutchison 3 (cover all my sms, and some IDD), but if I use other phone companies like Vodaphone and another second large one, $400 HK dollar equivalent for sure – (this only cover sms fee, seldom talk directly just ask people to call from HK) Moreover, I don’t need sign any contract at all. There won’t be any hidden and tricky traps in the plan. For another companies, just sending SMS will have cost me HK$330, but in Hutchison 3, it is included in the “cap", so basically, HK$200 can over all my sms and phone usage. very clear statement, as well, I know exactly I have dialled to which no. for how long; whereas for another companies, just I only receive a lump sum amount. Overseas, there are many traps, dial to some number string or countryside, the charge rate will be higher, but for Hutchison, it is a flat rate for every number. Simply speaking, there won’t be any unexpected charge in Hutchison 3 bill (overseas), though I don’t know the how is the situation in HK. Maybe their service standard is different in HK.

I personally think that most of your blogs are well-balanced and used to comprehensively look into the vexing issue on hand – not an easy task. It always give perspectives, and lead me to generate some other worthwhile thoughts and ideas. Fully enjoy all well-integrated passages, and at the same time, I can keep myself update on HK/technological issues. Thanks.

用得3G Plan，佢預o左你部手機有3G (WCDMA)，即上網速度應為384kbps，不會是EDGE或GPRS。佢亦唔限制你只用WCDMA，如你的手機有HSDPA(佢地稱HSPA)3.6Mbps，亦可用3.6M下載網頁或短片。

我試用手機o左K810i上youtube同百老匯戲院網站。youtube揀短片後，要再等10-20秒短片方會開始播放。sales建議我用moto的K3, V3, V6或Dopod D810會有較佳體驗。因這些手機支援HSPA。

我無理，繼續用K810i上百老匯戲院網站，可以成功睇到座位表，不過我無再試落去，睇下買唔買到飛。因為我認為睇到座位表，知道戲院有無位再決定去唔去戲院，對我來說已足夠。

再括來講，我對今次試用都幾滿意，可能會用自己部WCDMA機subscribe呢個服務。除o左戲院網站外，亦可隨時隨地上google查詢食肆或其他資訊，對我來說都幾吸引。

smartone cannot guarantee speed, because 3G basestastions only cover the dense areas. e.g. if you go to NT, it will be switched ot 2G network, that means the lower bandwidth rows of your table.

even for 3G basestation, i think the distance/cell size affects the top bandwidth.

so the question is, what is the coverage of its 3G network? what is the bandwidth accessibility?
